Plavalni klub Koper

New logo for the Swimming Club Koper, new site made by MagicDVpro. The Club where I grew up :) celebrates its 55th anniversary this year. So, the old graphic identity just called to be refreshed. Starting with the logo... other elements will be added soon.

Two features of the old logo that I recycled in the new one were the dark blue colour (although slightly changed) and the swimming figure (also transformed ;)). Changing the round form to a rectangular (square) one, but then going even beyond it: the final minimalistic version is without any borders, just an elegant swimmer figure, some waves and a plain clean text. No more green-yellowish "sunsets". The new colours are more pool-like. Blue.

Big Band Concert 2013

Annual concert of Big Band Hrošči/The Bug Orchestra (March 2013). The design sticks to the black and white combination, making it even more minimalistic. A clear font - slightly reminiscent of Art Nouveau styles - combined with a soft flow of small gray notes. As simple as that. :)

Efilmi

Logo and graphics made for a Slovenian web portal about films and film industry, Efilmi (February 2013). The basic logo is cleaned up: a simple font, cut at the bottom, with highlited f and the recurrent blue colour.

Private garden, Izola

Private garden in Izola (October 2012). Poor, browned grass in most parts of the garden require a more suitable solution for warm and dry climate. The garden is transformed in a low-maintenance combination of fine gravel (typical for the littoral region) and various mediterranean, durable plants and also succulents and ground cover plants.

Private garden, Sela na Krasu

Private garden in a village on Karst (August 2012). Renewed old Karstic house with a typical introverted garden, surrounded by a dry stone wall. The gravel part with parking places and near the terrace - greened in spots with dense ground covering plants. The lawn part has an interesting edge of shrubs, climbing plants and succulents that are planted directly into spacings in the wall. There are also three round "islets", intended for relaxation, lying, reading, ... The first - the one that gets the most sun - is a sandy circle, which is bordered with taller shrubs that provide intimacy. The second one is a wooden platform, surrounded by mediterranian aromatic perrenials. The third spot is in the shade of three trees - the ground under them is partly covered with low plants (which you can occasionaly step on). There is also a hammock hanging between the trees.

Zgrabi Zvok 2011 & 2012

In 2011 an upgrade to the traditional big band festival occurred. Since then we organize a jazz music workshop Zgrabi zvok/Grab the sound alongside MareziJazz. The graphics for both years were practically the same, for the exception of some additional features (more instruments teached at the workshop) in 2012.
Logo (a hand grabbing a note) was designed along the recognizable text style. The design of posters, flyers and other elements is simple, stylized and uses bright basic colours, which look good either on black or white bacground.

Point of view

Our landscape design professor - during a lesson about kitsch in gardens - said that it's only a point of view.
Almost. ;)
If my mother puts a gnome in the garden, it's kitsch.
If I do it, it's a design statement.

P.S. Drawn  in April 2012.

Every march the local Big Band Hrošči (The Bug Orchestra) has its annual concert. The 2012 flyers and concert programs were in black and white with the continuate gray text (which was the slogan of the big band "born to be hrošč", the web address or other info) in the center on both sides.

Agritourism, Praprot

Small agritourism in Praprot, a village on Karst (November 2011). Typical Karst buildings renewed in a modern way. The upper floor of  the house is transformed in tourist facilities, the former barn is now a kitchen and dining room for guests. The surrounding garden is designed for use of both, owners and visitors. In the shade of three mulberry trees there is place for tables, chairs and loungers. Right next to the wall is situated the outdoor kitchen and a long wooden bench.

Private garden of a summer residence (October 2011). The site is situated on a slope and offers a nice view over the hills to the sea. The higher trees are positioned on the edges as landmarks and in the lower parts of the property. There are some olive and fruit trees, and low hedges of mediterranian plants.
